The microphone signal is NOT routed to the main output where it could be mixed with the music you are playing. Instead, it is routed through deck A where it REPLACES whatever music signal playing on that deck at the time. That means you CANNOT talk over a song playing in deck A because turning on the mic would eliminate the music. You can only talk over music playing in deck B. Imagine working a gig and only being able to use the microphone when a song was playing in deck B but never when a song was playing in deck A.
