Reaper Pro Tools Key Commands For Logic
Reaper Pro Tools Key Commands For Logic. UpdateStar is compatible with Windows platforms. UpdateStar has been tested to meet all of the technical requirements to be. Sep 24, 2017 Many people use both Pro Tools and Logic but the different key commands can be annoying. I never wanted to learn the logic.
I was just wondering if anyone has put the time into making key commands in logic 8 that are similar to the Pro Tools key commands. In previous versions of Logic (7, 6 etc) there was PT key commands you could apply from the 'Logic Setup Assistant' not that these where that good or in particular very similar at all as far as I can remember, but at least it was a starting point. I'm sure there are a lot of people here switching regularly between PT and Logic and has customized their key commands to improve their work flow, so if anyone has made a key command setup like this and would like to upload the 'com.apple.logic.pro' preference file and share it with me I'd be sooo happy. Thanks, Andreas.

Just downloaded demos for each (I'm a logic user so I may be slightly biased here but tried to remain objective) and after spending 2 days with them here is my assessment on just the most basic functions and layouts of each: Overall Winner = Logic X. Runner up = Studio One. However Logic needs the ability to rearrange tracks in mixer, smooth waveforms in track view, undo fader/mixer moves, few more sends and inserts.
But what it does have is Fastest startup time Very Stable Best Cpu efficiency Cleanest mixer layout Ease of zooming with mouse holding option Quick Swipe Comping Cleanest handling of quantizing multitrack drums Made by same company that makes computer Why the others fell short: Pro Tools - Slowest startup time at 20 seconds. More difficult to zoom with separate commands for vertical and horizontal zooming.
Crashed on me within 10 minutes of using just by moving a track in the mixer. Lots of wasted real estate in mixer window with so many unused inserts and sends. No quick swipe comping. Microsoft Outlook Crashes When Printing Emails.
Too cluttered looking with so many edit points when quantizing drums. No customizable key commands. Cubase - Mix window too cluttered and modular. I prefer the clean single window of logic (and pro tools) where you can just scroll around to get where you need to.
Urc 6885 Free Code Manuals. No vertical zoom with mouse (unless I'm mistaken)? Doesn't automatically create ascending inputs on creating multiple tracks. No quick swipe comping. Crashed on me after 10 minutes of use when creating multiple fx channels. Reaper - Faders too narrow and inserts are too small. Mixer is non scrollable. Need to go into menu to see i/o on mixer.
Byron Birdsall Limited Edition Prints. Requires different modifier keys for zooming vertically vs horizontally with mouse, no quick swipe comping, least attractive gui imo. Studio One - Mix window too cluttered and modular. I prefer the clean single window of logic where you can just scroll around to get where you need to. Not crazy about look of gui or waveforms.
Had weird graphic glitches (meters pegged on some tracks for no reason). Multitrack drum quantizing not as clean of a process as logic. Logic has better cpu efficiency. Reaper - Faders too narrow and inserts are too small.
Need to go into menu to see i/o on mixer. Requires different modifier keys for zooming vertically vs horizontally with mouse, no quick swipe comping, least attractive gui imo. Cool thread... As long as no one starts talking about which one sounds better Reaper has a user-based library of many guis, some pretty cool. You can adjust the size and color of faders, indeed, the whole layout of the mixer. I agree with the difficulty of seeing your i/o in detail, unless you keep the routing window open all the time.
