Now when I go to print Appleworks 6 or Microsoft Word documents under 'Classic' (I'm using an old but very reliable StyleWriter II.) I get the report 'Serial Port in use by another application.' When I check the 'Chooser' the icon is there, but it reports. On suggestion from another user, I have zapped the PRAM, but this makes no difference. Any suggestions? Even though you are running Classic, OSX still controls all the hardware. I have a Wallstreet with OSX + 9.2.2 and eventually decided to get rid of my excellent StyleWriters since I could not print to them when booted to OSX. I am currently using USB printers via a USB PC card in the PCMCIA/CardBus slot. Also, don't be confused with USB-to-serial adapters; these are adapters that connect to Macs with built-in USB and allow one to use older serial printers.they will not work on your 'book.
