If still having issues uninstall Eudora and reinstall it then it should be the default email. Hi, OS: Win7 I still (for good reasons) sue Eudora as my main mail client. Each time I installed a Windows update, Windows set Outlook as my client but this was.

I'm using Eudora 6.2.5.6 Paid. I recently bought a new computer with Vista installed and have been unable to make Eudora my default mail program.

I keep getting a message saying, 'Eudora was unable to update the system registry. Your default mail program has not changed.' I assume that Vista wants me to use Outook as my default mail program, something I definitely do NOT want to do. Can anybody tell me how to fix this problem? The problem occurs because each time a MS patch for Outlook is installed, Outlook is made the default mail program. I haven't yet found a way to stop the patches doing this. -- Wilfried Hennings please reply in the newsgroup, the e-mail address is invalid Tony Toews [MVP] 20.08.09 19:55.

I find that highly irritating as well. I only have Outlook installed for testing software development.
